8 Essential Food For Your Uni Cupboard

*I had typed this up yesterday and forgot to publish it. I'm so sorry. I'm terrible at this posting every day thing. Oh well. Expect another post later on today.*

Being a student at uni and living away from home means you have to cook for yourself.
Sometimes you can go with the lazy option and order a take away. However that means you'll have to spend money and it's not good for you eating loads of take away food.
So I thought I'd make this post for you today to share with you some of my essential food to have in uni.

1. Soups
Having tins of soup is great to have in uni. Especially during the winter. They're also good for you and they don't take very long to heat up. Usually supermarkets have a deal where you can buy five tins for £2/£3. Some soups can even be a part of your five a day.

2. Noodles
This is another option to have as it is feeling and noodles can be cheap. Even the 30p noodles taste good and there is usually a deal where you can buy a few for a cheap price. They're also filling and at least you know you've got a meal to have. You can add flavours to it to make taste different if you like. For example sweet chilli sauce or soy sauce.

3. Sauces
As I mentioned in my previous post having sauces can add flavour to your food. If you have sweet chilli sauce, you can add it to noodles, pasta and even salads to add a bit of flavour to them. 

4. Crisps (Chips)/Crackers
Now there are going to times in uni when you're in need for a snack. Now crisps are good example for a snack. However if you do buy crisps. Buy the healthier ones or buy some crackers. Crackers are good snack or even lunch to have as they fill you up. You can also add cheese and ham to them.

5. Fruit
Even though mum and dad aren't around to tell you to eat your five a day. You could have a bit of fruit around as it's a healthy snack. You can even have fruit for breakfast by slicing them up.

6. Yoghurts
 Having some yoghurts in the fridge means you have another healthy snack. They're really good for you as I believe they have a lot of calcium in them which is good for your bones. You can also have them for breakfast or just as a snack.

7. Chips/Fries/Wedges
Now these are good to have as you can just put them on a baking tray and cook them in the oven. They also make a great meal alone or you can have them with something. You can also add something on top of them like cheese or just have them with a sauce. 

8. Wraps
I find having wraps in the cupboard instead of bread is so much better. Mostly because they can last a while and you don't have to worry about them going off. You can also make good lunches with wraps. 

Anyway, that's about it. I'm sure there's loads more essential food to have but most of you probably know the basic stuff like milk, cheese, ham, butter, sugar and of course coffee or tea. This post was just to give you an idea of what to buy on your next weekly shop if you're stuck on what to get.
