Self-Care Tips

Life can be hard and sometimes we forget to take care of ourselves.

I've come up with a few tips and tricks to give yourself a little self-care

1. Journaling

I've mentioned this a few times recently but honestly journaling and writing down your thoughts onto paper can be such a great way to take care of yourself. It's like your letting go of any negative thoughts and worries onto the paper. It's kind of a relief once you've let go of all the negative thoughts and you can kind of see the bigger picture. You can focus more on the positive thoughts and things that make you happy. Give it a try. Go out and buy another notebook (I'm guilty of buying too many notebooks and not using them) then start journaling all your thoughts down. It really will help you out a lot and feel like your letting go of all your negative thoughts.

2. Go For A Walk

Just getting in that little bit of exercise by just going for a walk. I'm not saying go for a long walk but even walking up the street and back can count as exercise. Sometimes it's just nice to go out and just walk. Make it more fun, listen to some music or take pictures of your surroundings. Walking doesn't have to be boring. You can make it fun. Trust me you'll feel a lot better knowing you've had some fresh air and not stayed inside all day.

3. Me Time

Sometimes you need some time for yourself. So make some time just for you. Whether that's in the morning when you wake up, the middle of the day or in the evening. Have a bit of alone time and do something you enjoy. Whether it's reading a book, exercising, watching a movie or doing a hobby like writing, painting or doing a jigsaw puzzle. Whatever it is, make sure you enjoy it. Do something that gives you a distraction with what's going on in your life and just have some fun.

4. Declutter

A little tidying up never hurt anyone. I find doing a little declutter and tidying up just feels like my life's organised. I always think if my bedroom is organised then my life is organised. It just feels good especially when you come home from work to have your room organised so you don't have to worry about it. Just spend ten minutes or so organising your space. Getting rid of any clutter lying about. Even if you want to spend the day having a full declutter session. Do it. I recommend while you do it to watch Tidying Up With Marie Kondo on Netlfix. She has some great tips for decluttering and tidying up. It motivated me to do the same with my life. It also feels good when you keep the things that 'spark joy' because they make you happy.

5. Make Time For Sleeping

Sleep is very important. I notice a difference in my mood can depend on how much sleep I've had. If I've had between 7 to 8 hours then I feel so much better and ready for the day. If I've had under 7 hours then I feel tired and not in the best mood plus I kind of just wish the day away. Which is not good. Definitely make time for sleep. If you've set an alarm for the morning figure out the best time to sleep in order for you to get 7 to 8 hours. I try and get in bed by 9 o'clock so that I can kind of relax and unwind before going to sleep. I actually made a blog post not long ago which has some ways to unwind in the evening. I'll leave a link below if you want to check that out if you're struggle to unwind before bed.

Anyway, that's all my self-care tips for you. I hope they were helpful to any of you needing a bit of self-care. It is important to look after yourself and make sure you're happy because it's your life and you should be happy.

Let me know what are some of your self-care tips in the comments below. Maybe we can all help each other out.

I'll be back again tomorrow with another Blogmas post.

See you then.
