Rainy Day

Image
There's nothing I love better than sitting in my room while the rain is pouring against my room. Especially as my uni room has a big window and my desk is overlooking my window so it just makes it perfect. I always love this time of year because rainy days are the perfect excuse to stay inside which is important in the current circumstances.  Autumn is definitely my favourite season because it's neither hot nor cold. Plus a few of my favourite things happen this time of year. September is the start of a new academic year which is relevant to me as I'm studying my master's degree which is definitely the start of a new beginning for me. Tomorrow is October which is my favourite month as my birthday is this Sunday so I always love October for that reason (who doesn't love their birthday month?). Then we got the excitement of Halloween at the end of October and November is exciting because of bonfire night then it's the start of the Christmas build up. Everything ju

First Impressions

As you may have guessed, I have finally moved into my halls of residence ready to start studying my postgraduate degree. It feels kind of weird being here and I'm still not used to the fact that this is going to be my home for pretty much a year.  I really love my room. I have my own en-suite bathroom with a shower that is so nice. I also have a 3/4 bed and from spending 23 years sleeping in a single bed, that was the upgrade I never knew I needed plus it's all for me so there's so much space. My room is also very spacious and it doesn't feel too cramped in here. I'm currently the only person in my flat as I think some people are moving in on the weekend. Which is okay because I got first dibs on the kitchen cupboard and fridge shelf plus the freezer drawer. Although it does feel weird being alone in a flat. At least I have had a chance to sort my room out and make it look nice. I have already taken pictures so a room tour will be coming up soon.  I start my lecture

Moving On

Tomorrow is a big day for me as I'm finally moving out of my mum's house. Now I know some of you may be thinking, what took you so long? Well, I was originally meant to move in February and March but then my Granddad passed away at the beginning of January so it was a really upsetting time. We only arranged one flat viewing which we had to do during a weekend away in Manchester. The flat was okay but the location was not great so instead of going through the stress of applying, we decided against it because I was unemployed at the time. Apparently having savings that come to half a year's rent doesn't get put into consideration which is understandable as they don't know me so yeah that plan fell out of the window. I then thought I may as well apply for a job up there so that I have employment then move. Which is easier said than done. With a lot of rejection emails and everything, I just didn't feel like it was going to work and I was slowly getting down b

September Plans

Just like that we're back at the start of another academic year. I'm kind of just writing off everything that happened in 2020 and making these last four months the best ones yet. September is actually exciting for me because I'll be heading off to university in a week's time to study my master's degree which is scary but also exciting. I'm actually looking forward to having some kind of structure to my life as well as the stress of assignments. It's going to be so great. I know it may be weird to be excited about stress for assignments but I'd rather be stressed over assignments than stressed about what I'm going to do with my life. Part of my degree is an internship so I'm hoping to gain some experience and be able to network plus who knows, maybe they'll be a job at the end of it. This is kind of a big deal for me because I know after this is all over, I'll be finding a place of my own to live in Manchester and finally be living
