5 Positive Things In 2020

I know, after the year 2020 has been it's hard to believe there may be some positive things that happened this year. It got me thinking though as we're slowly coming up to the last few days of 2020 that maybe a few positive things happened this year and I thought I'd make this post to share with you guys five positive things that happened to me. I'd encourage you to do the same as you may surprise yourself.

So as 2020 comes to an end, here are five positive things that happened to me in 2020.

1. Going to university to do a master's degree
Honestly I'm so happy I decided to do a master's degree because I had no idea what I was going to do with my life and after numerous job rejections, I decided to take a chance with doing a master's degree. Honestly I'm really happy I decided to do it because now it feels like I have a purpose in my life. Obviously it's very different this year with the pandemic and most of it being online but it's made me happy. I've moved away from home again and I feel more independent. It's a little bit stressful I'm not going to lie but when the work is done, it feels great. Definitely do not regret my decision to go back to university this year.

2. Spending time with my mum
Most of this year was spent at home with my mum and honestly without her, I'm not sure how I would have been able to cope through the lockdown. She's honestly my best friend and I'm so happy my mum and I are so close. She's been there for me since the day I was born (literally) and I honestly have the best mum in the world (I know I'm a little bit biased there). It's been nice to just spend time with my mum and know we have each other. This pandemic has made me realise how important family is and that you should never feel like you're on your own.

3. Social distance became a law
I'm going to be honest with you. I'm so glad social distance is a literal law. I need my personal space and hate random strangers just walking so close to you in the street. It's honestly nice to walk down the street and see people cross the road to avoid you because we're meant to keep 2m apart. Especially queues in the shopping. Best decision ever. I'm sorry if it bothers anyone but when you're a socially awkward introvert that needs her personal space, social distance is honestly the best thing.

4. Reading 35 books
I absolutely love reading and this year has reignited that love of reading. Spending so much time at home meant I was able to get through my tbr list and I'm so happy I did because I found some hidden gems in some of the books as you may be able to tell from my previous post. It was nice to escape from reality for a while and jump straight into a new story. I've never read so many books in one year and I hope to beat my record in 2021.

5. Moving to Manchester
Another positive thing that happened was I moved to Manchester to go to university and that's made me so happy because Manchester is such a cool city. There's so much opportunity and so far my time in Manchester has been great. I know I made a good choice in being in Manchester and I look forward to what the city holds for me. Who knows what will happen in the future but I'm excited about where it will take me.

So yeah, that's five positive things that happened to me in 2020. I know it was a rough year for so many of us but hopefully next year will be better now that we're fully prepared for this pandemic. It's not going away anytime soon but at least we can all do our part to keep everyone safe.

Anyway, thank you for reading my blog and hopefully you've thought of a few positive things that happened to you this year. I'll be back again soon with another blog post.

See you then.
