Back To Normal

It does feel weird with things slowly going back to normal because we've been in this situation before where we thought everything was going back to normal then the cases got worse leading to another lockdown happening and we were pretty much back to square one again.

I think the world has definitely changed from this entire pandemic and if it will ever be the same before the pandemic happened remains a mystery. Even now with things opening up and I'm seeing people travelling around or going out socialising, I kind of want to scream what are you doing we're still in a pandemic. Do you not remember last time when we thought things were going back to normal then everything got worse? I guess it's my nerves and feeling anxious about the future because lockdown was depressing for me. At first it was great but now I'm sick of it. Yet the thought of going back to normality is a worry for me because I'm nervous. Of course many are being vaccinated right now which is brilliant but when you're in the least important category for vaccination it does worry me a bit because I don't trust it's fully over so I'm probably going to be wearing my mask for the longest time.

Although it is kind of funny that apparently me wearing a mask causes offence to some people still. I live in Manchester and if you've gone in the city centre of Manchester, you'll find a lot of people, so I feel safer with a mask. Now I once got called out for wearing a mask while waiting at a tram stop. This made no actual sense to me to be honest. For one thing, why does it offend someone if I choose to wear my mask? It's my mask and if I feel comfortable wearing it then why should that bother you. Another thing is I was standing on a tram stop and by law you need to wear a mask on public transport so what is the point of me taking my mask off if I'm just going to put it back on again. I also had headphones in and it's less effort to just keep your mask on sometimes. It just baffles me that people call out other people for wearing a mask. Why? It's their face, their body. If they want to wear a mask to protect themselves then let them. Why are we being judgemental over a face mask? Sometimes people are confusing. If anything the person calling me out for wearing a mask at the tram stop made me want to wear my mask even more because I did not want their germs anywhere near me thank you very much.

So yeah, that was my rant of the day. Still though while things may be going back to normal, everyone is going at their own pace and we should let them. If some people are comfortable travelling and socialising, let them. If some people choose to still where a mask even when they're outside. Let them. We're all coping in different ways and we need to go at our own pace. At the end of the day, a pandemic is still going on so you can understand why some people are still concerned but you can also understand why some people just want things to go back to normal. Let's just support one another and not be so judgemental on the choices people make during this time. Unless you're a person that calls people out for wearing a mask then I'm judging you, sorry not sorry.

Anyway, that's all I have to really say right now. Let me know how you're feeling about things slowly going back to normal. I would love to hear your thoughts.

Thank you for reading my blog and I'll be back soon with another post.

See you then.
