May Favourites
For my final post of this month, I decided to go back to an old fashioned post and share my favourites that I've been loving this month. It's a classic and I only did two categories but honestly these are my top favourites of this month.
Let's get started!
TV
I surprised myself watching a lot of random TV shows this month because I usually don't watch a lot of TV. Although most of these shows I have on in the background while I'm doing other things like getting ready or tidying up. So yeah, that's how I've accumulated a lot of shows this months. Granted a lot of these shows I haven't even finished the series, and some are rewatches but still. These are shows I've really enjoyed this month.
1. Not Going Out
Over this month and the previous month, I was watching the entire series of Not Going Out and there's 12 series, so it was quite a long time. It's one of those shows I started watching a few years back because my dad was watching it when I came to stay with him, and I just found it funny, so I started watching it on iPlayer and before you know it, I was hooked. It's honestly a funny sitcom and I'm not surprised it's lasted 12 series. When all 12 seasons came out on iPlayer, I thought I may as well watch them all as I just finished watching Peaky Blinders (I know that's a very different show) but I just wanted to some to watch while I do other things like cleaning or writing blog posts. Even now as I write this post I'm watching Not Going Out. I felt I had to mention this as even though I started watching it again in April, I thought I'd mention it as part of my May Favourites because it is something I enjoy and have enjoyed even in this month of May and would highly recommend watching it if you have not seen it because it's a good sitcom.
2. Glow Up
This is a favourite I mentioned before but honestly with series 4 of the show starting again this May, I had to include this as it got me to rewatch the series before. I just find this show therapeutic because I love makeup, but it amazes me how creative the makeup artists are. Plus this show offers makeup tips which I find really helpful. This show is just so great, and some the challenges are pretty good. It's just a feel good, therapeutic show to watch and I'd highly recommend it if you haven't seen it.
3. Keeping Up With The Kardashians
This is definitely a show I never thought I'd watch but I don't know why I just started watching season 5 on Netflix and I feel like you just get instantly hooked in the family drama and just the lives of this family. I've never been interested in the Kardashians, but this is definitely one of these shows that you just watch in the background and end up just getting invested in. It's one of those guilty pleasure shows that you don't want to tell people you watch and enjoy it, so you watch it in secret and love it. Honestly, I never thought I'd get into this show and yet in May I've been watching a lot of episodes. I've gotten halfway through season 8 and I just love it.
4. The Crown
Another rewatch on my list is The Crown. I've been meaning to watch this especially as the new season is coming out this year, I thought I'd refresh my memory a little. It's definitely a very interesting show looking into the life of the royal family and some iconic moments in British history. I feel like this show is well cast and I like how it has aged the characters every two seasons because it adds a sense of realism to the show. I'm definitely excited for the new season and the brand new cast. I'm sure it's going to be amazing especially as these are the last seasons of The Crown so it should be good.
Books
Of course I managed to get some reading done this month so I may as well mention them on this favourites list.
Harry Potter Series
This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone because as you know I love my Harry Potter. It feels like every year I always listen to the audiobooks once and sometimes even twice in one year. It's just one of those audiobooks that I can't help but always go back and listen to. I just find Stephen Fry's voice when he tells the story so therapeutic and even know I've listened to this series many times I just love it. I started relisten to the series at the beginning of this month and I'm already on Goblet of Fire which is pretty quick for me but honestly this is why I had to mention it because Harry Potter will always be a favourite to me. I Heart Paris by Lindsey Kelk
I've been getting around to reading the I Heart Series by Lindsey Kelk and this month I finished I heart Paris. Honestly, I loved this book. It had so many interesting turns and getting towards the end of the book I had no idea which way this story was going to go. I own all the books so I kind of know where this story is going but I didn't know whether our lead Angela Clark was going to still be with her rock star boyfriend, live in New York or move back to England. There was so many twist and turns and everything you could want in a contemporary romance book. Plus it was all mainly set in Paris so that was very exciting. Something I love about these books is it gives you a guide on each city Angela visits at the end of the book so it's handy if you ever want to visit that city. I hope to one day visit Paris so I'm definitely going to use this book as a guide. Honestly, I loved the first book of these series and didn't think it could be topped (I was slightly disappointed with I Heart Hollywood) but honestly this book made me realise that this is a series I'm going to love. I'm excited to read the next chapter in Angela Clark's life in I Heart Vegas and see where this series goes especially after the ending of I Heart Paris, who knows where this series will go.
So those are my favourites this month. I'm sure there are many more, but I can't actually think of them right now. Either way, I'm sad that this month of blogging every day is over but that doesn't mean it's an end to blogging regularly. This month has made me want to take blogging more seriously. One exciting thing that I'm planning to do is give this blog a makeover and switch up the layout as I've had a similar layout since I began this blog and I think it's time for a change. Stay tuned for a brand new look coming very soon.
Thank you for reading my blog. I honestly really appreciate every time someone views my blog, and it means so much to me. I'll be back again soon with a brand new look on this blog and even more posts for you all.
See you then.
