Xmas Gift Ideas
I don't know about you but gift giving can be a real struggle especially at Xmas time when you have lots of family, friends, and significant others to buy for. Now there are lots of gift ideas out there so I thought I'd share my insight. A lot of these gifts are affordable and easy to give to anyone.
1. Make it yourself
Sometimes a simple handmade gift is even better than a shop bought one because it's one of a kind and nobody else has it. I gave my mum a gift one year that was so simple to make but she absolutely loved it. I created a word document and wrote my brother's name and his birthday then did a little heart with mum. Underneath that I put my name and my birthday. I printed it out and got a nice frame for it. You can see the finished product below. It's such a simple idea but it meant a lot to my mum as it's her two children's name and birthdays. It's personalised but also so affordable to make. Now it hangs proudly in the house because it means a lot to my mum. That goes to show that sometimes a homemade personalised gift is better than a shop bought one because it's unique to the person you're giving it to and shows you care as you took the time to make something for them. I highly recommend making your own gifts this Christmas whether it's a scrapbook, photo album or a framed design. It will be worth it to see the person's face when they open it as it truly will be a gift from the heart.
(Blacked out birthdays for obvious reasons)
2. Gift everyone the same thing
Sometimes, it's a struggle to buy for multiple people as you don't want someone to think you spent less or more on someone else. The only fair thing to do is buy everyone the same thing. Whether it's perfume, chocolates, mugs, vouchers or just a really random thing like a framed photo. This leaves everyone not feeling disappointed with their gift but also you can have a good laugh about it knowing everyone got the same thing from you. It's the perfect idea for Christmas presents.
3. Chocolate tub
Honestly, you can't go wrong with giving someone chocolate unless they have a dairy, nut allergy or are just vegan. If you know they don't have any allergies then give them a chocolate box as honestly you can't go wrong. If someone gifted me a tub of Quality Street then I'd be so excited. If they are a chocolate lover then honestly you can't go wrong with spending £4 on a tub of chocolate because at the end of the day it's cheaper than buying a smaller box of chocolate and you get more chocolate in a tub. You'd be surprised how many people would gladly have a chocolate tub for Christmas over anything else.
4. Gift Voucher
I used to think two things were a cop out gift. One was a mug with a letter on it (honestly, that's just being lazy with the gift giving) and two was a gift voucher. However, I've changed my mind over gift vouchers because at the end of the day some people (I will include myself) hate getting clothes for Christmas because most of the time it could be something you'll never wear but also it could be the wrong size. It's easier to avoid that embarrassment and just give someone a gift card to a shop you know they'll love. If they're a bookworm, get them a voucher for a bookshop or if they have a shop they really love whether it's Primark or Next then get them a voucher for that. You may think it's a simple idea but honestly it just shows you're not willing to risk getting them something they may or may not like and instead giving them the option to choose something they'll love whenever they go visit the shop. Heck, getting a voucher for a supermarket could be an amazing gift especially with the cost of living. You never know what someone is going through so gifting them a voucher for a supermarket could make all the difference in the world to them. Therefore don't be afraid to buy someone a gift voucher because it could bring them so much joy.
There we have it. Those are my affordable gift ideas that you can use this Christmas. Remember it's the thought that counts and you have no idea what everyone's finance situation is so be grateful for what you get. I hope this was helpful to any of you struggling on what to get someone and let me know if you'll be using any of these gift ideas this Christmas. I'd love to hear it.
Thank you for reading my blog and I'll be back tomorrow with another post.
See you then.
