Happy Halloween

Image
Happy Halloween! It's the scariest day of the year! Not really, but it's still exciting.  Whether you're going out trick or treating, having a halloween party, watching a scary movie or listening to a true crime podcast. I hope you have a very spooky day and that you have fun. Remember to stay safe when trick or treating because you never know who is on the other side of the door and just remember to have fun and it's okay to get a little spooked but also know when enough is enough. Especially if you're home alone, don't spook yourself so much that you can't sleep. When I've been home alone, I just turn all my lights off so no trick or treaters can come knocking on my door. Although I think the rule is there has to be a lit pumpkin outside the house as that's a sign that it's okay for trick or treaters to come. Whether people listen to that rule or not, just remember to stay safe and don't go trick or treating on your own.  Anyway, I hope you...

No One Told You Life Was Gonna Be This Way

Image
Today was a sad day. I thought today was going to be a relaxing Sunday after getting an extra hour in bed as the clocks went back. Yet I woke up to some sad news about Matthew Perry.  Of course there've been many celebrity deaths this year but this one is especially sad for me because I enjoy Friends and Chandler was one of my favourite characters because of his wit, his sarcasm and just his loveable personality. I’m aware that there was a major struggle going on behind the scenes with his addictions but he managed to pull through and get his life back on track. Which is why it’s so incredibly sad to hear of his passing.  It just goes to show that life is so unexpected and you can never really know what will happen which is why we all need to cherish each moment because you never fully know what’s going to happen. Count yourself lucky that the only thing you moan about is the weather because there are terrible things going on in the world like war, violence, addictions, mental...

Things To Do This Halloween

Image
Halloween is just a week away and to many it may seem like just another day but for a lot of people Halloween is a time to make plans and celebrate the day for all its worth. I thought I'd share some ideas on things you can do this Halloween to get you ready for the spooky day.  1. Trick or Treat This is an obvious one but trick or treating is a traditional thing when Halloween comes around. It's often where kids and teenagers dress up and go around knocking on neighbours doors for sweets. Of course I think trick or treating when you're an adult is often frowned upon but it's fun for the kids and teenagers as it's a chance for them to get lots of sweets. It's important though to only knock on people's houses that have a pumpkin outside their house as many don't like to be disturbed. Although some people just ignore that rule and knock anyway. On the other end, if you're like me and the thought of having people knock on your door throughout the night ...

700 Posts

Image
Honestly, knowing this is my 700th post is surreal to me. I can't quite believe I've written that many posts. That's like 77 posts each year in the nine years I've been running this blog.  I wanted to make this post as a thank you to anyone that has taken the time to read, share, comment or even just visit my blog. It honestly means the absolute world to me. My blog is like my baby and to watch it grow from 2014 until now is honestly amazing. There's been a few bumps in the road such as my many blogging hiatus, the spelling and grammar mistakes, the experimenting with different themes and more but now I can honestly say I'm proud of my blog and how it looks. I know it's not completely perfect but it's better than what it was in 2014. Even then I still loved it because it was my own part of the internet that belonged to me.  Thank you so much. I know this post is very short but I just wanted to dedicate this post to all of you and show my gratitude that y...

Dealing With Stress

Image
Sometimes life can be very stressful. Things don't always go to plan or unexpected things happen that can be very stressful to deal with. There are so many different causes of stress and I thought I'd share some tips on how to deal with stress so let's get started.  1. Take Regular Breaks This one is a really important one as it's very easy to overdo and just keep going. You may think it's the right thing to do but actually it can cause you to burn out to the point you no longer have the energy anymore. Taking regular breaks can really benefit you as it gives you a chance to walk away from your work and recover a bit so that when you do get back to work you almost go back with a fresh set of eyes now that you've had a moment to take a breather for yourself. Everyone needs a break so be sure to take regular breaks and this may help to make you feel less stressed and give you a moment to just recover. 2. Indulge in some me time  This is another crucial element whe...

Travel Morning Routine

Image
This is actually the morning after I came back from Cyprus. We ended up staying in a hotel in Birmingham and we were taking a three hour drive back to our home. Hence why this kind of works as a travel morning routine as I was travelling.  My morning started waking up to the news at 8am as I was sharing a room with my mum so she was already up watching the news.  I then knew I needed a refresher as I fell asleep late the night before as we got to the hotel at about midnight. The first thing I did was brush my teeth because my breath was stinking.  Now I forgot to remove my makeup last night so this morning I use my Simple cleansing wipes to clear up any makeup from my skin. I know makeup wipes are bad but luckily these are biodegradable and sometimes a wipe does the trick just as good.  Finally, I decided I needed some kind of moisturiser but didn’t really have any so I used my Superdrug Solait SPF face lotion as it kind of had that smell of being on holiday still bu...

Autumn Boredom

Image
As the days start to get shorter, the weather starts to get colder or rain a lot more than it can be a real struggle to find things to do especially on your days off. You may find yourself scrolling on social media or watching YouTube videos before realising your day has been wasted not doing anything productive. I thought I'd share some ideas on things you can do over these next Autumn and Winter months when you're bored. 1. Binge watch a TV series/Movie Marathon This one is a fun idea and you can make a whole day out of it. If there's a TV series you've been meaning to watch but just haven't found the time to do so then why not plan on your next day off to have a day where you binge watch a show. Go all out with snacks and make your room nice and cosy. I know it's not the most productive thing to do but it might make you happy especially if you've been excited about watching a series. Even watching a movie series can also be fun. Make your room look like a...

Long Flight Preparation

Image
I feel like a flight that is longer than three hours can sometimes feel like a drag and in that time you want to keep yourself occupied while in a confined space. As someone who has just been to Cyprus which was a four hour flight, I figured out a few things that really helped me out. 1. Have a meal in the departure lounge This one is good if you don’t fancy buying the overpriced food on the plane, although in the airport a lot of things are more expensive than normal. I like to make sure I’m well fed before a flight so that I don’t have to worry too much about buying the plane food which can be quite expensive. Although it still doesn’t stop me from buying some mini cheddars on the plane.  2. Portable charger is a life saver Having a portable charger is a life saver because it means you don’t have to wander around the airport looking for a plug. On my plane they had usb ports which was very handy but I still had my portable charger for the airport which really helped me out. 3. Do...

Cyprus

Image
Our first day was like any other first day of a holiday, head to the breakfast buffet first thing then go for a walk to have a little nose around before deciding it’s too hot and you’d rather relax by the pool. Although supplies needed to be stocked and luckily the hotels had a supermarket on site so that was pretty straightforward. With water and lays crisps stocked up we headed for the pool. It was so nice when it’s so hot to have the first dip in the cold pool. Nothing beats the feeling of being on holiday. Although after a morning at the pool we had an afternoon having a shower then enjoying some lays crisps and an afternoon nap.  We were half board so we had dinner then afterwards we decided to enjoy the overpriced drinks and watch the evening entertainment. Aside from the usual kids disco, they had bingo so I decided to play thinking I doubt I’ll win and the winnings was €165 which would be nice either way I started crossing off my numbers. Now I was down to very few numbers ...

Five Places I Want To Drive To

Image
It's been nearly two months since I passed my driving test and all I'm waiting on is getting a car then the world is my oyster. I've been so excited about passing my test as there are quite a few places I'd love to drive to and I thought I'd share my top five with you right now so let's get started.  1. Bristol This one is a very obvious one as if any of you didn't know, I was born in Bristol and it was my childhood home for ten years of my life. The only times I go down to visit is to see my Dad and the family but one thing I've always wanted to do is drive down there myself in my own car because relying on the trains never goes down well. Plus it will make it so much quicker to get down there. Not only that there's a lot of little villages that I grew up in and went to Primary school that I would love to visit just to feel nostalgic. It's not the same as visiting them on Google Maps so I would love to be able to visit them in person and driving...

Turning 27

Image
Happy birthday to me! Today I'm 27 years old and it's actually so weird. I feel like when you're in your early twenties that the thought of turning 30 feels miles away but when you get past the 25 year mark and get closer to your thirties, it's a scary thought.  Although I'm currently feeling no scary thoughts at the moment because as you're reading this, I'm currently enjoying the sunshine in Cyprus and having a very nice week off work. Honestly, I've only ever been on holiday when it was my birthday once and that was when I was four years old and had to stand on a chair on a stage while lots of strangers sang happy birthday to me. This time I'm most likely relaxing by the pool and tonight I'm going to drink cocktails as well as eat nice food.  Now I'm not going to dwell on the fact I'm 27 years old because age is a number. However, it is making me feel like I need to start putting my life into gear. After all, I passed my driving test a...

The Story Of My Blog

Image
Back in 2014, I was on YouTube watching YouTubers like DanIsNotOnFire, AmazingPhil and Zoella. It was a great time and something I thought would be fun to do. However, I didn't really fancy the whole being in front of the camera and putting myself out there. That's when I discovered Zoella's blog and thought it was a perfect idea to start my own little blog. Make posts and not have to show my face. Granted, I was really much of a writer. I was just a seventeen year old who was studying my A Levels. That didn't stop me before I knew it. I logged onto Blogspot (Now Blogger) and decided to create my blog.  The Name Honestly when it came to naming my blog, I didn't really think too hard about it. I knew I wanted to have the name Megan in it because that's my name and I thought Megan's Blog might sound a little too boring. Also I think that name was long taken. Then came Megan Time and to me it makes sense because my little blog is my own personal space of the in...
