Valentine's Day As A Singleton Plans
As someone who has spent the majority of my Valentine's Day as a single person. This day can be a cruel reminder of how single you are. That's why the best way to deal with this day is through a distraction. Now if you are like me and work on weekdays then you'll most likely be working on this day. While work is a good distraction, it's a bit depressing. That's why I thought I'd share some ideas on what you can do on Valentine's Day either after work or before work and if you're lucky enough to have a day off on this day then here are a few things that you can do on Valentine's Day as a single person.
Plan a solo day trip
Honestly something I love to do is go on solo day trips whether it's to a town or city or even just to a shopping centre. I love it especially if I have to travel to get there whether it's taking the train or a bus there. One of my fondest memories was when I was in university and I felt a bit down so I decided to go on a day trip the very next day to the Trafford Centre which I'd never been to before and it was a really enjoyable day. I even went to the cinema on my own for the first time ever and that made me realise that going to the cinema on your own is an enjoyable experience. Honestly, I would highly recommend just making the most of being single and enjoying going on a day trip on your own. It's a great feeling.
Movie Day
There's something about just having a lazy day at home and watching movies all day. I once planned all the movies I was going to watch and then ordered a dominos for food. Plus I had a selection of snacks and I just thoroughly enjoyed myself. It's a great distraction from how single you are by putting on movies that you love. Maybe try to enjoy the cheesy romance ones as that might make you sad about how single you are. The best thing to do is to put on movies that make you happy. Movies I like to watch are musicals, comedies or Harry Potter. Those are my go to movies that bring me joy especially when I'm feeling single.
Cook yourself a fancy meal
Why not learn some new culinary skills and cook yourself a fancy meal. Whether it's something you always enjoy cooking, something new or even trying to recreate something from your favourite takeaway. One of my favourite takeaway foods is beef chow mein and I've done a stir fry version but I would love to recreate a recipe from scratch. I've seen some recipes on tik toks and I'm tempted to give it a try on Valentine's Day as something different and who knows it tastes amazing. Either way I feel like cooking a meal yourself is so much nicer as you're putting your heart and soul into it. Yes it's more work and takes time but you'll thank yourself in the long run if it turns out nice. Either way treat yourself by making a delicious home cooked meal on Valentine's Day.
Read a good book
One great way to enjoy Valentine's day is to go offline and just read a physical book. Whether it's a book you've been itching to read for a while or a book you've read before and fancy rereading it again. Either way you'll be having a good time getting lost in the pages of a story. I've been really getting into reading again this year as I read seven books in January which is probably the most books I've read in a month. Either way I love reading and sometimes it's just nice to escape from reality and enjoy a feel good book.
Pamper Session
Why not treat yourself to some pampering? Why not go to a spa for a treatment or even get your nails done? If you like me though and prefer the affordable option then why not do it yourself at home. Start with running yourself a bath or having a shower depending on what you fancy doing. Then go all out with a face mask, doing your nails and just doing some skincare. It's good to look after yourself and your skin so giving it a pamper every once in a while is a great treat. Plus you'll feel so much better. One of the best feelings is if you've changed your bed sheets then after your pampering you put on a fresh pair of pyjamas and honestly I don't think there's a feeling that can be that. Of course after you're pampering you can enjoy some of the other things on the list like watching a movie or reading a good book then it would be a nice recipe for a perfect valentine's day as a singleton.
There we have it. Those are some plans you can do on Valentine's Day as a singleton. Let me know if you have any other ideas for Valentine's Day that all single people can do. I would love to hear your thoughts and ideas.
Thank you for reading my blog and I'll be back again soon with another post for you.
See you then.
