Day In The Life Of A Blogger
I thought during my anniversary week that I'd share a day in the life of a blogger. This is pretty much my day when I'm working on my blog posts. I normally work on my posts a month in advance so this is a real example of this as you'll soon find out. Anyway, let's get started with a day in the life of a blogger.
My day starts with coffee as I always need coffee in the morning. I also decided to have some breakfast which is very unusual for me as I normally don't eat breakfast unless I'm on holiday. It's nothing special, it's just Nestle Golden Nuggets which is one of the best cereals in my opinion.
After breakfast, I decided to have a clean up of my desk so I started removing everything from my desk and giving it a wipe down.
Once I cleaned my desk, I put everything back and on this particular day it inspired me to do my desk tour post as my desk is the tidiest it's ever been. You'll be able to see my desk tour in tomorrow's post.
I noticed how dusty my keyboard was and after seeing a video of someone cleaning their keyboard, I decided to clean mine. This resulted in me popping off all the keys. Don't worry I took a photo of my keyboard and had it on my laptop so I knew which ones went where. It was really dusty under there.
After I cleaned it, I then popped all the keys back on the keyboard and was really pleased with how clean my keyboard was.
I open my blogging notebook as I make notes for myself and on this particular day I decided to work on my anniversary week posts. If you're wondering, this particular day in my life was back in April as I like to prepare my posts in advance.
Now it's time to get to work on my laptop. I first started uploading the photos for my desk tour onto my blog so that they're ready for when I come to write that post.
It's time to start typing away my posts. I tend to switch from my wireless keyboard to my laptop keyboard when I'm working on posts.
You'll notice from this post I like to work on different posts at the same time. I decided to work on my Blogging Tips post as that was the first one of the week.
Once I've typed it out, I then copy and paste it and put it in a Google document. As you can see I put them side by side then edit the spelling and grammar mistakes on my post. I then copy and paste the edited post just to be extra sure all the spelling and grammar is good.
Now for the title image of My Blogging Tips post. I use Canva to create my title images. I created the background for the title on Canva so I use it as a template for all my title posts. Every time I go back to it, I change the text to the title of each post. I make sure it's all aligned in the centre before saving my image.
I then upload it and preview the post. This is where I have a read through to make sure everything makes sense. I also check to see if the images and text are all aligned correctly.
Finally, I hit publish so that my post is scheduled to go out on the week of my anniversary week. Which as you can tell if you read my Blogging Tips post on Monday that it did.
More coffee is needed before moving onto working on the rest of the anniversary week posts.
I continue to work on all my other posts for the week and I like to highlight each one I complete. I also switched up my list of posts for the anniversary week as sometimes I change my mind on certain posts. As you can see this is the updated list with everything crossed off except this post as this is the final one I decided to work on. I can guarantee though as you're reading this post that it is now crossed off.
To end my blogging day, it's time to close my laptop and step away from my desk.
There we have it, that was a blogging day in my life. I hope you enjoyed it. Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and I'll be back tomorrow with my desk tour post.
See you then.
