June Favourites
The end of another month and the end of posts every day. Don't worry, I still have plenty of posts planned for the rest of the summer and as this is the 87th post of this year, we're getting closer and closer to completing my goal of 150 posts in 2024. We're still not there yet so I'm going to be posting regularly to make sure we reach that goal. As is tradition for the last post of the month, I have another favourite post of everything I've been loving in June so let's get started.
Tomb Raider 2 Remastered
I have completed this once already but I watched a YouTube video by AxMania, who does a lot of Tomb Raider content and completed the Tomb Raider 2 platinum trophy so I decided to give it a go as I'm always inspired to collect the Playstation trophies whenever I play video games. I had a lot of fun doing it and it really helped me get nearly all the trophies. I just have two more trophies to get and that's completing the game on New Game + mode and collecting all the pickups in the game. It reminded me though why I love this Tomb Raider game and it's one of my favourites. Not because it brings in all the nostalgia but it has some of the most iconic levels to it. Yes the human enemies are a pain and the sea levels drag on a bit, it just adds an extra level of challenge to the game. Plus they are forgiving with the save system and the fact enemies drop supplies. Either way, I really enjoyed this game this month as I completed it twice just to get a trophy for completing it in under six hours. I love this game.
Eastenders 2014
BBC iPlayer released the 2014 episodes of Eastenders in May and this was a very iconic year for Eastenders as it was the Who Killed Lucy Beale year. I remember watching the first episode of it then I didn't watch it until the big reveal episode. I decided why not rewatch the first episode of the storyline then watch all the rest to see how everything unfolded. I mainly just want to see if the clues were obvious or not now that I know who the killer was. Also it's kind of intriguing as I've watched Eastenders for four years now to see characters that have left back on the square. I also used to watch videos on YouTube of old episodes but it's nice to see the genuine thing on iPlayer. I've been thoroughly enjoying the episodes, although it's taking a lot of time to get through them all as there are a lot of episodes. I believe they've just released the 2015 episodes too so that's exciting. It means I can just go straight onto the next year after I've finished 2014 which is good because that is the year the killer is revealed so it's very exciting. So yeah, I've been enjoying 2014 Eastenders episodes this month so that's why it's on my favourite list.
The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella
This is the final Sophie Kinsella book I had left to read and it did not disappoint. It's about Samantha who is a high powered successful lawyer and one day makes a big costly mistake so she decides to run away from it all and ends up in the countryside. There she's mistaken for a housekeeper and ends up working as a housekeeper for a couple while she figures out what to do next. Except she's never done any housework or cooking in her life. It's a sweet story about someone finding their feet and realising there's more to the world than a successful job. Sometimes you need a change in life and it's never too late to start again. I really enjoyed this one as it was a feel good read and inspired me to sort my own life out. Once again Sophie Kinsella never fails to disappoint with her books and I really did enjoy this one.
Only Murders In The Building
This was a tv show that I've been meaning to watch for the longest time but never got around to it. This month I decided to start watching it and I instantly became invested. As someone who watches True Crime videos, I can relate to the three characters being obsessed with a true crime podcast then when a murder happens in their building they can't help but investigate it and create their own podcast. The three main stars of Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez are the perfect casting. I don't know what it is about them but they bring some comfort and joy to the screen. I thoroughly enjoy the chemistry they have together. I also just found myself wanting to figure it out myself but I was wrong every time. It was still really good and I love how the season finale usually leaves you on a cliffhanger for the next season's murder. This show is fun but also gets your brain working trying to figure out who the murderer is. It's a good show and definitely a favourite for this month.
Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and for sticking with me everyday this month. It really means a lot to me. I'll be back again tomorrow with a brand new chapter post as we enter the month of July.
See you then.
