Packing Essentials

It's the Summer time which means it's time to go on a nice getaway and escape reality for a bit. One thing that always bugs me though is the packing and how to get organised when it comes to packing. I thought I'd share five essentials that I live by when it comes to packing for a holiday.
Let's get started.

Packing Cubes
Packing cubes are essential for packing as they keep everything organised. Plus you know where everything is as you can put each cube into categories from tops to bottoms to underwear. You also don't realise how much you can actually fit in a cube and it leaves even more space in your suitcase. Trust me, it will change your life when you start using packing cubes and you can get them from anywhere of all different sizes. I personally get mine from Amazon and the ones I bought have lasted me years so you never need to worry about repurchasing them.

Toiletry Bag
Something I learned is always have a toiletry bag stocked because you never know when you need it if you're going away for a night or for a break. It's handy when you know exactly what's in there so that you can always keep track of everything you need to restock anything. Plus just having an already organised toiletry bag ready to go saves you one less job when it comes to packing.

A Good Suitcase
Honestly, having a reliable suitcase on hand really helps the packing go smoothly. I always like to have a carry-on suitcase for shorter trips but it's nice to have a reliable medium sized suitcase for bigger trips. Personally, I love the four wheel suitcase as it just makes it easier for them to stand up and drag along as well whenever you're going through the station or airport. I don't think I'd ever go back to a two wheeler suitcase now that I've used a four wheeler for years. Having a good quality suitcase really helps you in the long run as it means you don't have to keep replacing it all the time and it will last a long time.

Chargers!
This is really crucial but don't forget your chargers. You don't realise how many chargers you need these days. There's one for your phone, earphones, the charger for the earphone charger, laptop, tablets, watches etc. Try to remember all your chargers for your trip and keep them organised in either a pouch or an electronics organiser. This will help you when you're travelling if you need a charger on your trip because you'll know exactly where they are. Chargers are a really important part of the packing process so don't forget them.

Less Is More
Finally, it's important not to pack everything but the kitchen sink. It's tempting to pack things just in case but the reality is that you most likely won't use it and then you've wasted valuable packing space. It's important to be realistic when it comes to your packing. Try to pack things that have multiple uses like one top but can be used for different outfits. Most likely where you're going will have a shop so if you do end up forgetting something then you can always go out and buy it. Don't rely on what ifs and just in cases because most likely they won't happen and you've packed something for no reason. Just think less is more when it comes to packing because remember you're the one that's got to carry your own luggage at the end of the day.

There we have it. Those are my essentials for packing. Let me know what your biggest essential is when it comes to packing. I would love to hear it in the comments below.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and I'll be back tomorrow with another post.

See you then.
