Pet Peeves

We all have those little things that really drive us crazy. That really puts a damper on your mood if you encounter one of those things. We all have pet peeves and I thought I'd share mine with you today.

1. Slow walkers
Honestly, there's nothing worse when you're in a rush and you get stuck behind a slow walker. It's always when you're running late for something and then you encounter a slow walker. It's even worse when they just suddenly stop in the most awkward place that it's a real struggle to pass them by. I know not everyone is in a rush but I wish there was a lane where slow walkers could walk on and us fast walkers can get to where we need to be.

2. People who don't understand personal space
One of the things I miss about COVID is the social distancing. I miss it when people had to be two metres apart from you. It was nice but now since the pandemic is all over, it seems personal space has gone right out the window. Why do people feel the need to invade your personal space when it's not wantering. The other day, I was just standing outside a shop. Minding my own business, listening to my audiobook and I was in nobody's way. Then all of a sudden a man comes along and not only walks right in front of me when there's nobody else on the pavement but then he comes back and decides to stand right next to me because I was in a sheltered bit. It wasn't even raining but apparently it was windy and he wanted to stand there to keep out of the cold. Of all the places he could have stood. I gave him no indication that I was in the mood to socialise and clearly some people don't understand social cues or even boundaries. Even in a queue in the shop, I always cringe whenever someone stands right behind me. It just feels like I'm being pushed to move up. Just wait your turn like the rest of us and I don't want to feel your breath on the back of my neck.

3. People who don't flush
I can understand if you're a toddler or a child but it baffles me that grown adults don't know how to flush. Personally when I use a public loo, I like to leave it how I found it for the next person. I never understand why people go mad with the tissue paper or better yet don't even flush. It's a simple thing to do. Don't even get me started on the state some people leave the sanitary bins. You're a grown adult, you should know how to flush and leave the cubicle tidy for the next person. If you don't then I don't like you.

4. People that play with your feelings
Honestly, playing with someone's feelings is honestly the worst thing you can do. If you don't want to be with someone, tell them. If you'd rather be with someone else, tell them. If you're just not feeling it anymore, tell them. Honesty is the best policy and it's better to be on the same page rather than giving someone false hope that everything is fine. It's a horrible feeling when you do realise you love someone more than they love you but it's worse when they give you mixed messages and aren't completely straight with you. The truth will always come out and it's even worse because you played with someone's feelings. Honesty is the best policy.

5. People who are rude to customer service workers
I never understand why some people are rude to customer service workers. They are literally trying their best to provide a good service. They are being paid the minimum wage for the work they are doing and honestly they deserve so much more for the amount of abuse they receive. Trust me I've been on the end of it and normally it's a fault that's out of my hands. I've had customers giving me abuse about prices, return policies, products and procedures. Things that I literally can't control and it baffles me when they think they can abuse something that is literally out of my control. Customer service workers are representing a company with minimum wage and they are just a number at the end of the day. Most of them need the job though and having privileged people giving them crap over minor little things. It baffles me. The person behind the counter is a human being with feelings and is just trying to get through their day while earning a living and providing a good service. You're a monster if you're rude to customer service workers who are literally at the bottom of the food chain with no power. Be nice because you never really know what people are going through. Sometimes a rude customer can really spoil your day and makes it really hard to find the positive so just be nice to customer service workers. It's not hard.

There we have it. Those are a few of my pet peeves, I do have many more but I don't want this list to go on. If you want a part two then be sure to let me know in the comments below and I would love to also hear what your biggest pet peeve is.

Thank you for taking the time reading my blog and I'll be back again tomorrow with another post.

See you then.
