Starting Again

Do you ever find yourself in a situation that you didn't expect and now all of sudden you're back to square one?

That's definitely something that happened to me when something unexpected happened in my life and now my future is very uncertain at the moment. I now have to start figuring things out about what I want to do with my life and I find myself back to square one where I have to start again. It's a weird process when life just throws you a curveball when you least expect it. It's almost like the five stages of grief. Denial. Anger. Bargaining. Depression. Acceptance. It's a rollercoaster of emotion but here we are. It's not ideal but sometimes life throws us these cards and we just have to deal with the hand given to us.

It's why I decided to get my CV in order as I haven't touched it for a year. This resulted in me pulling out a CV booklet that I got from university years ago just to have a refresher to structure my CV. That's a good starting point if you're looking to make a career change is making sure your CV is all up to date with all your skills, job history and education just to make you seem more employable. That's what I started with and it was frustrating at times trying to figure out what to say but eventually I got a CV ready. One tip is to have a master CV that you can use for all jobs but then have a copy to be able to edit to suit the job application you're applying for. Sometimes focusing on points that's in the job advert can really help you out in the long run.

Remember to do your research and don't always apply for the first job you see. It's always good to have options as you never really know when your dream job can creep up on you. I use Indeed for my job hunting and before applying I tend to save the jobs first just so it gives me an idea on my options.

Either way I'm taking this moment to start again and try something new, see my new options and who knows this may be the best decision of my life even if it came so unexpectedly.

If you feel like things aren't going your way, why not consider starting again or doing something different than what you normally do. It doesn't have to be a big dramatic thing like a career change. It could be something simple like rearranging your home or trying out a new hobby. Life is short and sometimes it's good to try something different.

Let me know if you've decided to try something new in your life in the comments below. I would love to hear your thoughts.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and I'll be back again soon with another post for you.

See you then.
