July Favourites

The end of another month which means it's time for another monthly favourites post. This is what I've been loving this month in July. Let's get started.

How To Kill A Guy In 10 Ways by Eve Kellman
I absolutely loved reading this book because I had no idea what way it was going to go. I obviously knew murder would be involved but I could see this story going a number of ways. It's definitely relatable in the sense that every woman has had a horror story happen to them on a night out where they've either been harrassed, attacked, spiked or even worse which is really quite sad. Anyway, this book dives into that world as Millie runs a helpline for women who are feeling unsafe during a night out, they can contact M. However, M soon turns to murder and Millie finds herself becoming a vigilante against the creepy men. I absolutely loved reading this as it gave me similar vibes to How To Kill Your Family and I honestly enjoyed reading this one. I'd highly recommend it if you're into true crime. It was a fun read but also took me in a direction I did not expect.

Minecraft
I have times where I will play Minecraft constantly or I don't play it for months. There's no in between. This month I've been playing Minecraft a lot which is why it's on my list. I've been playing survival mode and I've never actually completed the game before. Although I don't think I'm ever close to completing it. I am trying to achieve all the trophies at the moment. I'm on the hunt for diamonds though which is a struggle sometimes, although I have found some which are better than nothing but not enough. I do have moments when it frustrates me. I was trying to set up camp in the middle of a forest at night when loads of creepers and zombies came then boom. I got exploded by a creeper, lost all my stuff and had no idea where exactly it was as I'd respawned at my other bed. Basically I had to search for ages to find my stuff as I really wanted to find it as I had mined so much iron. Anyway, I found all my stuff but then the same thing happened again. A creeper came behind me and just exploded. I've learnt to just take many beds with you and set a respawn point if you are too far from your base. Either way I've thoroughly been enjoying Minecraft this month, even if it has frustrated me a couple of times.

Just My Luck
I was in a charity shop at the beginning of this month and I saw a Just My Luck DVD for £1 which just brought back some memories. I loved this film when I was younger with the main reason being that it had McFly in it. They are my favourite band so I was excited to see them in a movie and honestly this movie is a feel good movie. It's your typical romantic comedy with Lindsay Lohan and Chris Pine starring as Ashley and Jake. She is lucky and he is unlucky. One kiss later and their luck switches to the other. Chaos ensues and each learns a new way of life through their new found luck. Honestly, this is an underrated movie that I feel deserves more credit than it gets. Rewatching this movie reminded me how much I love it and I feel it deserves a lot more credit than it gets.

The Reappearance Of Rachel Price by Holly Jackson
Holly Jackson does it again. I loved her A Good Girl's Guide To Murder series and I also enjoyed her stand alone Five Survive. This is another standalone novel and honestly I was gripped. It's about Rachel Price who disappeared sixteen years ago and her two year old daughter Bel was the only witness to it. Now, eighteen the case is reopened with a true crime documentary looking into the mysterious disappearance. Just as things get wrapped up, Rachel Price suddenly reappears which rocks the Price family. Suddenly secrets and lies are brought up as questions are asked about Rachel Price's disappearance. Why did she disappear in the first place and why has she reappeared sixteen years later? Honestly, there were so many twists and turns, I thought I'd figured it all out at one point then another curve ball through me. Especially towards the end of the book, I couldn't put it down. Honestly, I don't know how Holly Jackson does it but she has a way of you guessing each mystery and honestly I love it because suddenly once everything starts to unravel and the truth comes out, it all starts to make sense. It's honestly brilliant and I really thoroughly enjoyed this one. She is starting to become my new favourite author and I can't wait to see what happens next, although I have a strange feeling this one may get a sequel. Who knows though? Either way I really enjoyed this book this month.

There we have it. Those are my favourites for the month of July. Let me know what you've been loving this month, I would love to hear it.

Thank you for taking the time to view my blog and I'll be back tomorrow with Chapter Eight and a very exciting post. Be sure to check that out tomorrow.

See you then.
