Solo Shopping Trip

On a rare day off, I decided to go on a solo trip to Shrewsbury and thought I'd capture it as a day in my life photo journal.
It all kicked off when I was walking to the station and was taking my time. I kept thinking to myself it's normally slightly delayed so I should be fine. I rounded the corner and there was the train at the station. I had two choices. Accept the fact I was going to miss it or run. I ran like my life depended on it. I was hoping the conductor could see my mad dash and halt the train. It was still early at the end of the day. Luckily I made it with a few seconds to spare. Out of breath and slightly sweaty but I made it. I was on the train. The next one wasn't for another hour so I was glad I made this one. It reminded me that sometimes trains can be slightly early so I won't make that mistake again.
Just when I thought everything would run smoother, a tree decided to fall on the train tracks which meant my journey was stopped half an hour in order to get on a bus replacement which meant I now had to travel two hours to get to Shrewsbury. I rolled with it because my end goal was Shrewsbury so it wasn't so bad for me and I didn't have any luggage to worry about so that was good.
I finally arrived at Shrewsbury, forty five minutes later than I was originally supposed to. Wasn't the end of the world though because things happen and it can't be helped if a tree was on the train tracks. I was quite happy and knew which way to go so I started walking to the town centre which was up a hill. That was a work out but at least it was a nice day and as it was a Friday, it wasn't actually too busy.
My first stop was Primark and boy did I do a bit of damage there. The main reason I chose Shrewsbury was because it has a Primark. It's not a huge Primark as it only has two floors but I still love it and I did quite a bit of damage there. Although sometimes I think I've spent too much by how heavy my basket is, then I get surprised by how much it was. Primark is quite affordable. Don't worry, I'm going to share everything I bought in a haul post which will come out on Monday so look forward to that.
Next I had a walk around. I did end up going to M&S to use their loo. Does anyone else only go into M&S just to use their toilets or is it just me? Anyway after that I found myself at CEX which is honestly the home of the nerds. I also count myself as being one of the nerds. I love coming here because I always find a gem of video games at a reasonable price. I have three categories to choose from when looking at video games and that's Playstation Two, Three and Four. It's great. I did end up buying two Playstation Two games which I bought for nostalgia reasons. At least it was a successful shop.
My next destination is one of my favourite places and that is Waterstones. I've been buying a lot of books recently which has caused my reading list to go from five books to ten books as I bought two books on this day. I just love the feeling of being in a bookshop as it's a place you can't really rush. You have to take your time which is why I like going in there on my own as I need time to decide. I never really know what genre of book I'm going to buy. I normally look through the fiction section first before going to the classics section before browsing other sections. I feel like whenever I'm in a bookshop, I always have to buy a book. The two books I bought I didn't expect to buy but I'm really glad I did because they were two beautiful books.
I was then hungry and didn't really know where to go but then I came across KFC and realised I hadn't had a KFC in a while. That's exactly what I had. I went for a popcorn chicken snack box and a mini fillet burger with gravy. It was quite tasty although the snack box is so much smaller than it used to be. Either way it was enough for me and made for a nice lunch.
After that it was time to head back to the station and luckily the train was running again as they'd cleared the track so that was nice. I managed to get the train even though it was slightly delayed but I made it home in one piece after a successful shopping trip.

There we have it, that was my solo shopping trip to Shrewsbury. Definitely a nice way to spend the day off and it was an interesting day to say the least. I'll share my Shrewsbury haul on Monday so look forward to that.

Thank you for taking the time to view my blog and I'll be back soon with another post.

See you then.
