August Favourites

It's the end of the month and you know what that means. A favourite post of all the things I've been loving in August. It seems to be mainly TV shows and movies I've been enjoying this month but August is the month to chill out so it makes sense. Anyway, let's get started.

I'm In The Band
I've been meaning to watch this show for the longest time but it was never on Disney plus and I couldn't find it anywhere to buy. Then one day I was on the iTunes store and decided to look it up which is when I found all forty one episodes. I was so excited that I made a mature decision and bought the entire series. That way I can rewatch the series. It's a series I loved watching when I was a teenager because it was on Disney XD and the humour was definitely for the teenagers and older. Even now I still laugh at it because it has so much slapstick in it and I love slapstick. Plus it's a show about a rock band so it has adult characters, the teenager bits are a little cringey but I love the three men of Iron Weasel. They all bring something to the show. You have Derek who's the leader and very self centred, Burger who is wild and Ash is the dumb one but has a lot of good banter in the show. They work so well. I wished they'd never cancelled the series because the final episode didn't even feel like a final episode. I felt they could have gone on longer and I would have loved to see more of it. That's life though, sometimes good shows suddenly get cancelled and people don't realise how good they were until they are gone. I can happily say I watched the entire series and don't regret it one bit.

The Intern
This is one of my favourite movies. It's such a sweet film about finding yourself and learning a lot from a different generation. It's a feel good comfort movie that has a great cast and the story is good too. I feel like this is a film that gets overlooked but I honestly love it. I could watch it over and over again. It's one of those films that also gets me motivated to blog, I have two other films on this list that also have that same effect. I think it's seeing successful women running their own companies or killing it at their jobs that makes me wish I could take this blog to the next level and work on it full time. Maybe one day it will happen. Who knows? I'll keep working at it though, I've been here ten years so what's another ten years. I definitely love this movie which is why it's one of my favourites.

Cruella
This is another one of my favourite movies, it's been a while since I rewatched it so I watched it again this month and was reminded why I love this movie. When it first came out, I saw it twice in the cinema in Manchester because I loved it so much. It has everything. Drama, comedy and amazing fashion pieces. It reminded me of The Devil Wears Prada a little bit because of all the fashion, plus it stars two wonderful actresses. Emma Stone as Cruella and Emma Thompson as the baroness. It's a perfect combination. I also love the originality because these Disney remakes where they focus on the villain of the story is genius. I feel like Disney needs to do more of that rather than remake all the classics. I feel they're losing their originality just a tiny bit. Although, I know there was talks of a Cruella sequel so I'm excited for that because if it's anything like this movie then I'm hopeful it will be amazing. It's just a feel good movie and again about a strong independent woman that knows what she wants. It's just all around a satisfying movie and I love it.

The Devil Wears Prada
Of course I had to mention this movie, I'm pretty much going through all my favourite movies at this point but I've recently rewatched them all and it brings back all the reasons why I love them. The Devil Wears Prada is just incredible with Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci are just amazing in it. I've heard they're doing a sequel to this film which I would love to see if it is true and I hope they bring everyone back for it because it wouldn't be the same without any of them. Although, the risk of sequels is whether it will be as good as the original. One thing I hope is that Andy got rid of her toxic boyfriend and friends that aren't supportive in her career. I think rewatching the movie multiple times will make everyone realise that the real villains are Andy's boyfriend and friends. Unfortunately we can't have everything. I honestly love this movie though and it's definitely one of my favourites.

There we have it, those are my August favourites. I know there's not much variety but these are the things I've been loving this month. Let me know what you've been loving this month and I'll be back tomorrow with Chapter Nine.

See you then.
