Day 1 Passport

The first photo of my August Photo Challenge is Passport so this is my passport.
I had to get a new passport recently as I went to Dublin in March and they said my passport expired in July 2024 even though the expiry date was April 2025. Apparently there's a new Brexit rule where passports are only valid for ten years so check to see when your passport was issued and if it's more than ten years then you most likely need a new passport. It's such a silly rule because everything goes by expiry dates so why not passports. Luckily when I reordered my passport it only took a week to process, I didn't even pay extra. I just put my old passport in an envelope and posted it in the post box. It got back to them fine and got back to me fine as well.

I think I prefer the old burgundy coloured passports because they were such a classic colour. Now these passports just look like every other country's passport. I think every country should have a unique coloured passport and I know some countries do, I wish our passports were still burgundy. Let me know what you think if you have a UK passport. If you have a UK passport, do you prefer the new black colour or the old burgundy colour? I'd love to hear your thoughts and let me know if you're taking part in the photo challenge, I'd love to see your photos too.

Thank you for reading my blog and I'll be back tomorrow with day two.

See you then.
