Viva Las Vegas

Bright light city is honestly the most incredible experience of my life.

It still feels like a dream that just flew by. After months of preparing for this trip, it being over in a week just shows that it's true when they say time flies when you're having fun and believe me I had a lot of fun.

I'm one of those weird people that gets excited about the airport and going on a plane. I also learned that I get anxiety about the weirdest things compared to my family. My family was more scared of the flight and turbulence. I don't mind that, I'm terrified of security and not being let through for whatever reason or there's something wrong with the boarding passes or passports. Even though I've triple checked everything.
When we got to Vegas, they were not kidding when they said it's a bright light city because there's flashing signs and buildings everywhere. It's honestly incredible. Even when we got to our hotel which was  The Excalibur there was an atmosphere with the casinos and loads of people everywhere. It's a whole different hotel experience. The Excalibur was a great hotel because it was a good location, slightly old fashioned but it had the comfiest bed in the world and the bathroom was big so there was plenty of space for three of us sharing the room. We stayed in the Royal Tower Queen room so we had two queen sized beds. Plus it had a sofa to chill on too.
There is so much to do in Las Vegas. Walking the strip is an experience in itself. There's so many walkways that it makes it easy to cross the road. We only had to cross a bridge and we were in New York New York. That was incredible because we rode the roller coaster that goes around it which is terrifying because you don't feel like you're strapped in properly and you are so high. We also saw Mad Apple by Cirque Du Soleil which was an incredible show with music, comedy, magic and acrobatics. It was an incredible show and I'd highly recommend checking it out if you're in Vegas. We also did the Big Bus Tour which gives you a great view of the Las Vegas sign as well as all the sights. Something else I really wanted to do was the Titanic Artefact Exhibition which was a surreal experience and opened my eyes to one of the greatest tragedies. They even have an iceberg which is very cold if you touch it and the room gets so cold that it makes you feel like you were there on the night of the iceberg. It was an incredible experience.
For my mum's birthday we went on a gondola ride at the Venetian which was lovely because they sang to you and even sang happy birthday in Italian for my mum. In the evening, we surprised my mum with Hell's Kitchen which was a dream come true after watching all the seasons. I was excited to try the Scallops and Beef Wellington. It was so tasty but so filling. I could have done with the Beef Wellington being medium instead of medium rare but it was still delicious. We did the pre-fixed menu which was a reasonable price and I had the Hell's Red Infusion mocktail which was very tasty. Of course we also had to see the Bellagio fountains which was incredible. It sounds like a firework display but it was a lovely fountain display. Definitely worth seeing.
Two other shows we saw while we were there were the Ultimate Variety Show at Planet Hollywood. It was a fun entertaining show with great performers. We also had to experience the Tournament of Kings at the Excalibur. That was incredible because it was dinner and a show. They feed you a mini whole chicken, potatoes, corn on the cob and bread. The catch is you have to eat with your hands because they had no utensils in mediaeval times. It was very fun and you get either water or pepsi in a tankard which is nice. For dessert it was an apple strudel thing which was very tasty too. We were in Hungary and our knight was very good. It's a very fun atmosphere and you feel very competitive against the other countries.
One of the highlights of our trip was seeing the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam. Honestly, it was incredible. We went with Grand Canyon Destinations which I highly recommend. We went for breakfast and lunch which was really tasty. Breakfast I went with a croissant and egg sandwich which is served with a hash brown. Very tasty for an early morning start. I had a ham sandwich and crisps for lunch. Which is honestly all you really need. You also have time to pick up snacks from the Gas Station too. Then it was the Grand Canyon. We went with the tour guide option which I highly recommend because you get to leave stuff at the bus, have access to it anytime and it takes you to each of the sections of the West Rim. We opted out of the Skyglass which I didn't mind because you get to see beautiful views of the Canyon. It was incredible. We had an excellent tour guide called Brandon who was very knowledgeable and definitely worth it. Plus he took some great family photos for us. Our driver Dawn was also incredible who got us to where we needed to be and she hauled huge ice buckets to keep water cold on the bus. There's also plenty of bottled water to keep you hydrated on the trip. I would highly recommend if you're looking for a good Grand Canyon Tour to go on then choose Grand Canyon Destinations. It is worth the price which is an amazing tour guide and driver.
Of course we couldn't not go visit the casinos as every hotel had them. I could see how easy it is to get sucked into them but every time I lost, I knew when to quit. I think I only spent thirty dollars on the machines and only won eighty cents. Gambling is definitely not for me.

Las Vegas is honestly an incredible experience and a week was the perfect amount of time. There is so much to do and so much to see. It was incredible and definitely one of the best holidays I've ever been on. It's definitely a trip I will never forget.

Thank you for taking the time to view my blog. Let me know if you've ever been to Las Vegas, I would love to hear your stories of Vegas. I'll be back again soon with another post.

See you then.
