A Day To Myself
Have you ever had a really bad day? To the point you think you've hit rock bottom because that's what happened to me a couple of weeks ago. Long story short, I got stood up and it hurt. I could have hid under the covers and hid from the world. Instead, I decided to have a day to myself. Get my independence back so that's what I did.
I took a train into town because I knew I needed to get out of the house.
My first stop was breakfast. I was going to go to a cafe but it was really busy so instead I went to Starbucks and had a bacon roll with a Caramel Macchiato. I was listening to Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets while enjoying my breakfast but then decided to catch up on Eastenders because I like to keep myself entertained when I'm eating on my own. The earphones never come off. While watching Eastenders, I got my notebook out and decided I was going to write this post. I knew I wanted to get some writing done and was inspired by how I was feeling in the moment. I had a bad day the previous day and decided to motivate myself to have a good day.
After finishing with my breakfast I went for the longest walk I've ever taken in my town. Aberystwyth is such a nice town to walk around because you have the castle ruins but also the seafront. I walked so many steps, I ended up doing 15,000 steps but that's because I walked around the castle then walked up and down the seafront twice. It was just nice to get some fresh sea air. It wasn't raining, it was cloudy but it was just right. They do say going for a walk is good for your mental health and this walk really cheered me up.
After doing some more walking and browsing the shops, I was hungry and it was after lunch so I decided to have a cheeky KFC. I love ordering the fillet burger, popcorn chicken and gravy. I'm weird and put gravy in my burger but it's so tasty. Again, eating on your own is fun when you have an audiobook or something to watch while you eat. Plus it killed a bit of time before catching my train home.
As I was listening to the Chamber Of Secrets it got me in the mood to play the PS2 game which is one of the best Harry Potter games out there so I did and it definitely was the cherry on top of a good day. Definitely improved my mood and made me realise that sometimes it's the little things that can turn a bad day around.
There we have it. That was my day to myself after having a bad day. Let me know what you do to turn a bad day around. I would love to hear it.
Thank you for taking the time to view my blog and I'll be back again soon with another post.
See you then.
