On My Own

Do you ever have days when you find yourself on your own? Cause I do.

As I'm slowly near thirty, I realise I realise I don't have a solid friendship group. My only group chat is family or work. I'm not constantly meeting up with people or chatting to people. I could probably go all day without receiving a message. Now I'm not writing this for pity or for people to feel sorry for me. In fact this has been my reality for a few years now.

I've become so used to being on my own that I enjoy it. I can go to the cinema, a cafe or restaurant on my own and not feel ashamed. In fact it's a liberty. You have this freedom of choosing what to eat and watch and not care if it bothers anyone.Plus you can just be in your own world. I listen to an audiobook or watch a video to keep me occupied. It's just a nice feeling.

Would I prefer to be spending time with a friend, family member or even a potential partner? Yeah, that would be nice. I know that I can also find enjoyment in my own company as well as others.

I'm writing this post because I know there's a lot of people like me who feel like they're on their own most of the time. I'm here to tell you that's okay. As soon as you enjoy your own company then life becomes a little easier. Be brave and do those things you want to do on your own. It's a great feeling as you feel liberated and free in life. You just gotta take that first step.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and I'll be back tomorrow with another post.

See you then.
